A Word from The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army

The Mark Littlejohn Christmas in July event 2008 is the 5th annual event that Mark will coordinate for The Salvation Army.  It is an important event for the organization that has raised over $95,000.00 in its first 4 years alone. This event has not incurred any administrative or organizational fees throughout its tenure.

We will use the money raised to fulfill the needs of several programs, not for operational needs. In the past the money has been used to purchase books for the men’s rehab program, patio swings for the senior housing program, sending kids to summer camp, and providing Halloween costumes for children living at the family shelter. It has also provided milk and diapers to the shelter The money raised by the event has purchased Saturday lunch for 38 seniors throughout the year as well as family lunches and dinners. It has provided school backpacks for 500+ children each year. Part of the finances goes toward a delicious & nutritious breakfast for the 300+ children who get to shop for school clothes each year.

We cannot express how much we appreciate Mark and his workers, one of whom is contacting you right now.  We, at The Salvation Army, are aware of Mark and his workers efforts in the community to bring in the much needed funding.  Thank you in advance for your part in the event.

Any assistance you give us to help this endeavor is much appreciated.  If you have any questions please feel free to call me.

Thank you and God Bless
